If you've been to the Montecito Country Club before, you've probably seen the Anacapa Ballroom and imagined many a wedding banquet celebrated within those walls. Christine and Joey wanted to mix things up and have their reception in the Grand Foyer instead, and close the ballroom altogether - a fantastic idea! We lit the room with up-lighting (Amber gels) and projected a custom gobo design (Christine and Joey's logo) from the balcony onto the dance floor.
As guests arrived, they were directed into the adjacent Santa Cruz Room. They were treated to cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a fantastic view of the Santa Barbara harbor, and our mix of quirky 80s new wave music hand selected by Christine herself. After guests took to their seats for dinner, Christine and Joey made their entrance to Angels and Airwaves' "The Adventure". During dinner, we played a mix of soulful classics from Otis Redding, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Maxwell, John Legend and more. There were many heartfelt toasts before we kicked off dancing with Joey and Christine's First Dance to Death Cab For Cutie's "Follow You Into The Dark". Then our bride surprised her mother Rose with a Mother_daughter dance to the Beatles' "Long and Winding Road".
The dance party was a mix of old and new classics, with tons of requests from their guests that made it all the more personal. We took a break from dancing for the cake cutting and played Disney's "Cinderella Castle Loop" as Christine and her new husband Joey did the honors of taking the first bite. We then invited all married family and friends to the dance floor for the Anniversary Dance. We then kicked up the energy for a strong finish with current hits and some of Christine and joeys favorite songs - like Jay Z's "She's like a Star". We ended with Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" which was a perfect close to a perfect evening. Thank you Christine and Joey, and best wishes from all of us!!
