Katharine and Christian had their amazing wedding at the Four Seasons Biltmore Resort in Santa Barbara on Sunday 4/14/13. We were very happy to provide them with DJ services and lighting (up-lights and a dance-floor gobo - see pics). The ceremony was held at the Mariposa Garden, where the magnificent Aurora Ensemble performed as a string quartet. Their cocktail hour was on the El Mar patio, and the quartet played a mix of pop and classic favorites. Our amazing wedding planner was Rebecca Gigandet who made sure the entire day went perfect for Katharine and Christian. During dancing, our couple made special song dedications to guests and special groups of friends and family - fast ones, slow ones, and even outrageously fun ones. We also played the Canadian National Anthem for the arrival of the late night snack - Poutine! Here are some song highlights from their wedding: First Dance: Jack Johnson - "Angel" Parents' Dance: Louis Armstrong - " Wonderful World" Bouquet Toss: Divinyls - "I Touch Myself" Garter Toss: Michael Buble - "Feeling Good" Last Song: Neil Diamond - "Sweet Caroline" + Etta James "At Last" Congratulations Katharine and Christian!!

We were so proud to be part of 103.3FM the VIBE's wedding promotion for 12 Weddings on 12-12-12. Our DJ Spencer had quadruple duties - promoter, part-coordinator, MC, and officiant. DJ Gavin Roy joined him as his sound man and DJ for the event
THE VIBE 103.3FM gave 12 lucky couples a day to remember with an "I Do at Noon" Complete Wedding on 12-12-12. The couples were married at the Palm Garden Hotel in Thousand Oaks. Couples received free wedding rings from Nerces Fine Jewelry, bouquets from Floral Designs from Roni, gift certificates to Hidden Desires, pictures from Melgar Photo Studio, and a reception at Brendan's Irish Pub. One of our couples (the Lopez's) won a free honeymoon getaway to the J.W. Marriott Desert Springs that included a 2 day stay, 2 spa passes per day with spa treatments for 2, and free golf for 2! Congratulations to our happy couples!
| | Reza and Alison were married on October 27, 2012 at the beautiful Santa Barbara Historical Museum in downtown Santa Barbara. Their amazing planner for the day was Kim Curtis of Toast, who laid out every little detail of their day to perfection.
We were very honored to handle all their entertainment needs for their day. For their ceremony, we had our solo guitarist George play all their prelude music, as well as the processionals and recessional. It was a heartfelt ceremony, presided upon by the groom's own sister.
After the ceremony, our guitarist George was joined by a second guitarist Jose, and our Flamenco dancer, Laura, for a Spanish themed cocktail hour. The caterer, Janet and Jeff Olsson of New West Catering, presented guests with a variety of Tapas, as appetizers.
| Our DJ Gavin took over for the rest of the evening on the upper terrace, where dinner and dancing was set to take place. Dinner was presented Family Style, with a serving of an amazing Paella, as the main course. Reza and Alison danced their First Dance to Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat's "Lucky", which was followed by a Family Dance to Al Green's "Let's Stay Together". The dance party that followed incorporated a mix of old and new, fast and slow, with the familiar and the deep cuts thrown in for good measure. A fantastic day for all. Thank you Reza and Alison! Congratulations!!!
Destinee and Seth were married on October 6, 2012 at Villa Camino Cielo, a private estate in the mountains off the CA-154, overlooking beautiful Santa Barbara. We did their lighting set up and also provided DJ services for their entire event. Lighting: String lighting over the pool and reception area in an "M" formation. A customized Gobo projection of their initials in the pool. Chandeliers in the oak trees at the cocktail and bar area. Up-lighting on the surrounding oak trees. Area Lighting for Shuttle Pick-up/Drop-off area. Restroom Area Lighting. Kitchen and Scullery Lighting. We also provided two generators, all necessary cabling/fixtures/labor and a standby technician for the duration of the event. Our DJ for the event was the incomparable DJ Spencer, who in the end, had the crowd partying in a frenzy with some even jumping into the pool! We were fortunate to work with Destinee and Seth's amazing wedding planner, Frieda Niemann, who made sure everything was picture perfect. And speaking of pictures, all the spectacular shots you see above are courtesy of the fabulous Wendy Kalom. Please visit her blog and check out more pictures from this wedding, as well as her story on Destinee and Seth - she also has their engagement shots here.
It was the event of the season - Jacqueline & Brock finally tied the knot on 8/11/12 at the very private Bulito Beach at Hollister Ranch in Gaviota. We were very honored to provide DJ services for Jacqueline and Brock as well as a photo booth with a guestbook for their guests to have a little fun on the side. Our amazing planner for this beautiful day was Ann Johnson of Ann Johnson Events, and catering was provided by Ursula O'Neill's outstanding Catering Connection. The ceremony was held on the bluffs overlooking Bulito Beach. Jacqueline and Brock's parents and family walked down the aisle to the Vitamin String Quartet's rendition of "All You Need Is Love". Then bridesmaids & groomsmen followed as we played Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Then Jacqueline and her father Nick arrived in a Classic Car and they walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of the Beatles' "Here comes the Sun". Once the vows were said, rings given and Jacqueline and Brock kissed as husband and wife, we played Natalie Cole's "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)" for the bridal party's recessional. Cocktail hour was right outside a beautiful tent provided by Classic Party Rentals. We played a mix of reggae, classic rock, jazz, and contemporary selections to mix things up as guests enjoyed cocktails, hor's d'oeuvres, and our photo booth. Dinner was inside the tent, and Jacqueline and Brock had picked out a few Classic Rock, Jazz and love songs from various generations and artists to create the perfect mood. As we went into the night, the dazzling lighting provided by Bella Vista Designs made the event site even more magical. Jacqueline and Brock danced their First Dance to Elton John's "Your Song" and then they danced a combined Parents' Dance to Steve Tyrell's "The Way You Look Tonight". The dance party that followed was a mix of literally everything under the sun, as we played oldies and current music, slow songs and fast ones, to get everyone dancing and making all requests possible. Their Last Dance was to Led Zeppelin's "Over The Hills and Far Away". It was a fabulous celebration - our congratulations to Jacqueline and Brock!!
Aileen and Darren were married on 5/19/12 at a beautiful private estate in Santa Barbara, overlooking a very secluded private beach. We were very honored to provide DJ services with the spectacular DJ Andrew Korn. We also provided string lighting over the dancefloor and dining areas and area washes for various sections of the property (buffet, bar, valet, etc). Aileen and Darren were very appreciative of our work and here is an excerpt from their Yelp Review that speaks volumes:

Adrienne and Spencer were married in beautiful Santa Barbara at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum on July 7, 2012. Their ceremony was held on the lower courtyard of the museum, where we had a ceremony PA system all set with a microphone for their officiant Rich Tobin. We shared the musical limelight with Spencer's favorite band who came all the way from the SF Bay area, the amazing Windy Hill Bluegrass Band. They played an authentic jam of bluegrass sounds for the prelude to the ceremony, the processionals and recessional. After a sweet and heartfelt ceremony, guests proceeded to the middle courtyard, where Windy Hill continued playing an upbeat set of live bluegrass. Our planner for the day was Kelly Clark of Event of the Season. Kelly and her team made sure everything was perfect, up to the smallest detail. The meal for the evening was catered by Sarah Dandona and Heather Story of Omni Fresco Catering, who also provided the full bar and hors d'oeuvres. Dinner for the evening was buffet style, with an amazing tri-tip and chicken spread. Spencer and Adrienne made their grand entrance right into their first dance, Johnny Cash's "Walk The Line". After a rousing round of toasts from family and friends, our Bride danced with her father to Andy Williams' "Moon River". Then it was Spencer's turn to dance with his mother to a special medley of songs put together by Spencer's mother as a surprise. The parents of both the bride and groom surprised our newlyweds with an in-laws dance to Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat's "Lucky". And once the dance floor opened to the guests, there was no stopping the dance action. Even our bride got the crowd cheering as she did the 'worm' on the dance floor in her mermaid style wedding dress. Congratulations Spencer and Adrienne! It was an honor to be part of such an fabulous evening (and to work with a stellar crew of wedding professionals!). Best wishes to you both!!!Photos are courtesy of Scott and Julia Webb of Bear and Penguin Photography, who shot the entire event. A killer husband and wife duo. Please check out their blog for more cool pictures :)
When you put together some good event planning, a great venue, and an amazing group of people you end up with a Bat Mitzvah like this one. We sat down with the clients a few times to make sure that we had all the details and a solid timeline, which really paid off even though we had to adjust on the fly. The venue of choice was the stunning Glen Annie Golf Course, and we brought in enough sound for the dining room and the patio so that everyone could be in on the party. We also brought along some extra dance lighting and Wildfire Blacklights to really get everything popping. The Mitzvah Girl, accompanied by her event dance troupe, welcomed everyone with a special dance performance to "Wild Ones" by Flo Rida and led everyone out to the dining tables to uproarious applause. DJ Rooster was then at the helm, and with the power of the Bat Mitzvah cheat sheet, let only the tables that could answer the trivia questions go ahead to the buffet line. Some tables had to wait a while! The hours flew by as the dining turned into dancing, and then into the Hora! Where everyone of the family had a chance up in the chair. The games that followed were a frenzy of energy and excitement that took everyone all over the venue inside and out. Once the sun dropped lower in the sky the lights brought the black light sensitive party favors to life and the dancing just didn't stop. The night ended on a sweet and slow note, with everyone grabbing a friend to dance with in the final minutes of the party. Thank you for the great time, we were so glad to be part of it! Photos provided by the absolutely marvelous Natalie Thomson! Check out more of her work here: http://nthomsonphotography.com/
